Families in Ross Creek will soon be able to enjoy a new-look playground and park thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

Michaela Settle the Member for Buninyong has announced Golden Plains Shire Council will receive $450,000 towards the project from the Growing Suburbs Fund, which helps Melbourne’s rapidly developing interface and peri-urban councils deliver high-quality facilities for their communities.

The funding will support a new playground, fitness equipment for adults, a barbecue and picnic facilities at the Ross Creek Recreation Reserve.

Walking trails through the reserve will also be expanded.

This is the second round of Growing Suburbs Fund support for Golden Plains, after the popular and successful fund was expanded to peri-urban councils last year.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has facilitated $913.2 million in local infrastructure, created more than 8,880 jobs and supported 253 projects across Melbourne’s fastest-growing areas.
