Dog owners and their best friends are set to benefit from a new dog park to be established at James Reserve, Buninyong thanks to a $40,000 investment from the Victorian Government.
The funding boost comes at a time when the benefits of public open space are in sharp focus as locals stay home under Stage Three restrictions.
The Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle today announced the funding for a new off leash dog park in Buninyong giving dog lovers even more dedicated areas to socialise and exercise their pets.
The Government will work in partnership with City of Ballarat to establish the new dog park who will now commence finalising the costings and tender process.
This announcement was made part of a $2.5 million dollar investment from the Victorian Government to roll out 17 new dog parks across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The 17 dog parks funded under this stimulus package are in addition to the 16 already announced, bringing the total number of new dog parks to 33.
The funding forms part of the Victorian Government’s Building Works package, providing $2.7 billion towards shovel-ready projects – big and small – to get thousands of people back to work.
