EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE CENTRE ON THE WAY IN TEESDALE
Young families in Teesdale will soon have better access to local kindergarten and childcare, thanks to the Allan Labor Government’s $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reforms.
Member for Eureka, Michaela Settle MP today announced land has been purchased in the Golden Plains Shire to deliver the Teesdale Early Learning and Childcare Centre (ELCC), which will open in 2026.
The Teesdale ELCC will be one of 50 government-owned and operated centres the Labor Government is opening between to improve access to early education and help meet demand for kindergarten and childcare in our communities.
The first four ELCCs will open in 2025 at Sunshine Primary School, Eaglehawk North Primary School, Moomba Park Primary School and Murtoa College, with 14 others opening in 2026 across the state.
Work to develop the remaining ELCCs is continuing – where possible, they will be located at government schools, hospitals, TAFEs and other major employers to make childcare more accessible and convenient for busy parents and carers.
Through our nation leading Best Start, Best Life reforms, the Labor Government is transforming early childhood education to help children thrive, save families money, and support parents and carers return to work or study if they choose.
Quotes attributable to Michaela Settle, State Member for Eureka
“With a new early learning and childcare centre on its way, parents will be able to drop their kids off in one stop, kids can transition from early learning to primary school easier, and teachers will be able to get to know the new kids before they join their classes. Great for everybody!”
