A state-of-the-art library and community hub is on the way for the Ballan community, thanks to support from two Andrews Labor Government programs.
Minister for Local Government Shaun Leane today joined Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle in Ballan to announce Moorabool Shire Council will receive $3.5 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund and $1.5 million from the latest round of the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program to deliver the project.
The Ballan Library and Community Hub will include library services, Maternal and Child Health services, an art exhibition space, visitor information centre and community meeting rooms.
This is the third round of Growing Suburbs Fund support for the Moorabool Shire Council, with $3.5 million in funding previously provided for the new Early Years and Community Hub at Maddingley West.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has facilitated over $1.07 billion in infrastructure, created more than 10,200 jobs and supported 299 projects across Victoria’s fastest-growing areas.
The Living Libraries program has invested more than $42.6 million into 109 projects over the last seven years, allowing a total investment of $297.2 million for new libraries, upgrades to existing facilities and library vans.
