Member for Eureka Michaela Settle, Minister for Regional Development and Minister for Agriculture, has welcomed a Victorian Budget investment to support emergency services across the state, including $400,000 going towards land and planning for a new CFA station in Dereel.

The funding is a major win for the Dereel brigade and local community, who have long advocated for improved facilities.

The new station will strengthen the brigade’s ability to respond to emergencies and support volunteers with improved infrastructure as demand continues to grow.

This investment forms part of the Victorian Budget’s broader support for emergency services, including a $217 million package to strengthen firefighting capability across the state. The funding will deliver new trucks, upgraded equipment and additional support for forest firefighters, helping ensure Victoria is prepared for future fire seasons.

The Allan Labor Government continues to invest in emergency services across regional Victoria, recognising the vital role volunteers play in keeping communities safe.
