BUDGET SWINGS INTO ACTION ON NEW MADDINGLEY ALL ABILITIES PLAYSPACE

Kids of all ages and abilities will soon have a new adventure play space in Bacchus Marsh thanks to $1.25 million investment by the Andrews Labor Government.

The new playground will be fit out to accommodate adventurous kids of all ages and abilities at the Bacchus Marsh Racecourse Reserve in Maddingley. It will be the first of its kind in the area, and will include an adventure playground, walking trails, and sensory-friendly landscaping, to offer a variety of experiences for everybody.

With Bacchus Marsh expected to grow to 50,000 residents by 2041, there is a growing demand for local sport and active recreation infrastructure.

The funding from the Victorian Budget 2022/23 will also go towards landscaping and walking trails, and once complete the new park will spark the imagination and inspire more people to explore its surrounds.

The Budget is providing $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.

This brings the Labor Government’s investment into community sport and active recreation infrastructure to over $1.2 billion since 2014.

Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and fast-tracking community recovery by improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
