A new community and early learning centre is on the way for fast-growing area of Maddingley in Bacchus Marsh thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

Michaela Settle Member for Buninyong announced Moorabool Shire Council will receive $3.5 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund, which helps Melbourne’s rapidly developing interface and peri-urban councils deliver high-quality facilities for their communities.

The Maddingley West Early Years and Community Hub will offer kindergarten for three and four-year olds, maternal child health consulting, a shared room for Occasional Care & Playgroups, shared office spaces, allied & family services consulting spaces, community rooms for programs for those aged 65+ years & young people.

The total project will cost $6.758 million with the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund contributing $3.5 million to the cost.

This is the second round of Growing Suburbs Fund support for Moorabool, after the popular and successful fund was expanded to peri-urban councils last year. In 2020, the fund provided $2.5 million towards the new sports and community pavilion at Darley Park.

Since its establishment in 2015 the Growing Suburbs Fund has facilitated $913.2 million in local infrastructure, created more than 8,880 jobs and supported 253 projects across Melbourne’s fastest-growing areas.
