WORK BEGINS ON NEW ROKEWOOD COMMUNITY HUB
A new community hub will keep Rokewood residents connected, with work on the new multi-purpose facility now underway thanks to a major Victorian Government investment.
State Member for Eureka Michaela Settle MP visited Rokewood today to celebrate the official beginning of construction on the Rokewood Community Hub, jointly funded by the Victorian Government, Golden Plains Shire Council and the Rokewood-Corindhap Football Netball Club.
The Victorian Government contributed $3.5 million, with the Golden Plains Shire Council providing $442,000 and the Rokewood Football Netball Club raising $18,000 towards this $3.95 million project. Thanks to this funding, the outdated existing buildings at the Rokewood Recreation Reserve will be replaced with a new multi-purpose community hub.
The new hub will include construction of new gender-equitable change rooms, medical and storage rooms, multi-use meeting spaces, change spaces and public amenities, Undercover areas and footpaths and landscaping works.
