NEW SCOREBOARD PUTS RUNS ON THE BOARD FOR MT CLEAR
Fans and players of Mt Clear Cricket Club and Mt Clear Junior Football and Netball Club can keep up with all the latest action, thanks to a new scoreboard at the clubs’ home ground.
Member for Eureka Michaela Settle today joined City of Ballarat Mayor, Cr Des Hudson and club members to officially launch the new scoreboard, made possible by a $100,000 investment from the Andrews Labor Government.
Sport is at the heart of regional communities like Mt Clear and the new scoreboard opens up a range of new possibilities for local sport.
The electronic LED scoreboard adds a new dimension to the player and fan experience at the ground, giving clubs and future champions the chance to showcase their achievements on the big screen. Local community groups and businesses will also take advantage of the scoreboard to broadcast local initiatives, events and promotions.
The new scoreboard complements the new cricket training facility, pavilion and oval upgrades at Mt Clear Recreation Reserve, thanks to an additional $750,000 investment from the Labor Government.
The Victorian Budget 2023-24 is providing more than $213 million to deliver and improve community sports infrastructure and support initiatives that boost participation and inclusion in local sports clubs and organisations.
This brings the Victorian Government’s investment into community sport and active recreation infrastructure to more than $1.9 billion since 2014.
Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, levelling the playing field and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
Michaela Settle MP acknowledged the City of Ballarat for its $1,100 contribution to the project, and the Mt Clear Cricket Club and Mt Clear Junior Football Netball Club for their contribution of more than $1,200.
