NEW EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE CENTRE COMING TO TEESDALE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle today announced that works are beginning on a brand-new early learning and childcare centre which is set to open at Teesdale Primary School, delivering high-quality early childhood education and care to local families.

Positioning kindergartens on or close to schools supports children to get the most out of their early learning, makes drop-off more convenient for busy parents and carers, and helps with a smoother transition to primary school.

Part of an historic $14 billion investment in the new early learning facilities across the state, the Teesdale centre will offer long day care and kindergarten programs for three and four-year old children, with daily capacity for up to 102 local children.

The purpose – built facility will feature outdoor play areas, a maternal and child health consulting room, a dedicated community room and on-site parking for families and staff

Located within the rapidly growing Golden Plains Shire the centre responds to increasing demand for accessible, high-quality early childhood services, driven by region’s affordability and proximity to major cities.

The Teesdale centre is one of 50 early learning and childcare centres being built and operated across Victoria as part of the Government’s Best Start, Best Life reforms – the most significant transformation of Victoria’s early childhood education sector in a generation.

Early learning Victoria, established with the Department of Education, is committed to delivering child-centre, play-based learning with strong connections to nature and local communities. The rollout will see 24 ELV centres open between 2025 – 2027.

This investment marks a critical step in ensuring every child across Victoria gets the best possible start in life.

Backed by the Victorian Government, the centre will be operated by Early Learning Victoria (ELV) – government-established provider dedicated to delivering exceptional early years services.
