MOORABOOL SHIRE RECEIVED FUNDING BOOST FOR LOCAL ROAD SAFETY
Michaela Settle Member for Eureka announced today that Moorabool Shire Council will receive $46,500 through the Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) Local Government Grant program to develop a community road safety strategy.
The funding will enable Moorabool to develop a revised road safety strategy for the shire given the current strategy is nearing its end. It will look at the crash history on local roads and develop an action plan to apply Safe System principles on the road network to reduce crashes involving vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. As part of the process, they will engage with key stakeholders including Victoria Police and engage the community to develop the strategy.
The LGGP provides funding to projects that help prevent road trauma, particularly among pedestrians and cyclists – the most vulnerable road users.
The 2025 TAC Local Government Grant Program will open for applications in mid-June 2025. For more information on the program, visit tac.vic.gov.au/local-government-grants.
