MASONS LANE DOG PARK OFFICIALLY OPENS TO TAIL-WAGGING DELIGHT
Today Member for Eureka Michaela Settle joined Mayor Cr Paul Tatchell and CEO, Derek Madden from Moorabool Shire Council at the opening of Masons Lane Dog Park in Bacchus Marsh, giving the local community the opportunity to see the works that have taken place.
The project has brought to life a brand-new, fully-fenced off-leash area with a double-gated entry – giving peace of mind to pet parents and plenty of freedom for pups to roam. With dog-friendly landscaping and pathways, it is the perfect spot for tail wags, meet-and-greets, and a good run-around. This vibrant space is designed for everyone – humans and hounds alike – and is all about helping families enjoy the outdoors stay active and connect with nature right in their own backyard.
Masons Lane is a Round 1 project of the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program which currently has 45 new dog park projects well underway across Victoria. The State Government provided $400,000 to deliver Masons Lane Dog Park and Moorabool Shire Council contributed $200,000.
Since 2018, the Victorian Government has delivered 31 purpose built off-leash dog parks across the state. As part of the 2023/24 Victorian Budget, $13.4 million ($12.583 million committed in grant funding) is being invested to ensure that Victorians have easy access to much needed green open space to exercise, relax or enjoy the outdoors with their dogs.
