Bacchus Marsh Scores Major Win with MARC Show Court Upgrades

Bacchus Marsh’s growing community is set to score with upgrades to the show court at Moorabool Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC).

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle today joined Moorabool Shire Council to announce show court upgrades at MARC, backed by a $250,000 investment from the Allan Labor Government.

The funding will help upgrade the seating at the show court, allowing more people in the community to come together and support their local athletes.

The project will also be complemented by a $6,694 investment in the Bacchus Marsh Basketball Association’s Hoops for Her program, funded through the 2024/25 Change Our Game Community Activation Grants program.

Hoops for Her aims to boost participation among women and girls, both on the court and in coaching roles within the association, through clinics and coaching courses.

The Victorian Budget 2025/26 is investing $20 million to continue providing new and improved community sports infrastructure through initiatives like the statewide Local Sports Infrastructure Fund, which will be open for applications in the coming months.

It’s part of the more than $2.4 billion invested by the Victorian Government into community sport and active recreation infrastructure since 2014.

From court upgrades to lighting, investments like these provide high-quality and accessible places for Victorians to reap the benefits of sport and active recreation participation.

“This upgrade is about more than just a new seating area — it’s about creating a space where the whole Bacchus Marsh community can come together, cheer on their local teams, and celebrate everything we love about grassroots sport.

I’m proud to be backing local clubs, creating opportunities for women and girls, and investing in the future of our growing region.”
