Michaela Settle MP is delivering on a key election commitment.

Residents in Haddon are a step closer to seeing the Sports Stadium they love upgraded with a new playing surface, with work commenced on the upgrade project.

Member for Buninyong Michaela Settle today announced that Craftsmen Flooring has been appointed to remove and replace the old floor which was no longer fit for purpose due to its age and its many patchy repairs.

This upgrade had been called for by the Haddon community. Michaela Settle made a commitment during her election campaign that if elected, she would ensure that this important local sporting and recreational facility would be upgraded.

Michaela Settle was able to secure funding of $220,000 from the Andrews Labor Government to deliver the upgrade of Haddon Recreation Reserve Stadium.

This upgrade will provide a level and even playing surface that is both safer, and easier to maintain. It will also provide excellent health benefits for those in the region, particularly the regions youth.

The stadium had once been a site for school holiday basketball programs and leisure activities for local groups, however, conditions at the stadium did not allow those activities to continue. This upgrade will see these events and activities able to recommence and allow the stadium to be utilised by the whole community.

The Andrews Labor Government is upgrading sports fields and sporting venues across regional Victoria and recognises sport is an important part of life in regional Victoria.
